Heirloom cherry tomatoes in rainbow colors

Local Food Offerings

We offer our organically grown heirloom vegetables for sale at the Franklin Farmers Market in Johnson County, Indiana. We plan to be there every Saturday during market season, except in cases of severe weather, illness, or other exceptional circumstances (follow us on Facebook or Instagram for scheduling updates). Stop by our booth to say hello, play our homemade trivia game, and shop for garden-fresh veggies, microgreens, and other goodies. We have some surprises in store for the 2022 market season, including a much larger selection of vegetables and more of what you all asked for last summer.

Q: Your farm name makes me hungry for strawberries. Do you sell strawberries?
A: We have planted many native fruit and nut crops on our farm, including wild strawberries. Native fruit, nut, and herb crops are our main focus as a farm, and they account for nine of our ten acres. These crops will be included at our market stand as soon as they multiply and mature enough to bear fruit prolifically. We expect to wait about two more years for the strawberries, about five years for the pawpaws, and about 38 more years for hickory nuts! Meanwhile we hope you enjoy our faster growing food crops such as heirloom tomatoes, herbs, and a variety of fresh greens. You may also enjoy learning the origin story of our farm name here.

Q: How can I contact you with questions or special requests?
A: The best way to contact us is to send us a message through our Strawberry Moon Facebook Page.

Q: Do you take requests for specialty produce?
A: Certainly! If there’s a special vegetable or herb you can’t find anywhere else, maybe something your grandma used to grow, we want to hear about it. We can’t promise that we’ll be able to grow it for you, but we’ll try if we can. To us, this flexibility is one of the many beautiful things about being a boutique local grower.

Q: Can I visit your farm?
A: We intend to offer tours someday, but we’re not quite ready for that yet. Instead, we suggest you visit our booth at the Franklin Farmers Market, Saturday mornings all summer! If you have questions about our better-than-organic growing practices, we’ll be happy to answer them for you. You can also find pictures and stories posted regularly on our blog.

Q: What other services do you provide?
A: Quite a few!
– We steward many varieties of seeds, and we are happy to share seeds from our farm on request. All our crops are open pollinated, patent-free, non-GMO, heirloom varieties. We believe in local food, food access, and food sovereignty, and try to do our part in furthering those goals.
– We are available for speaking engagements and educational community workshops.
– We provide photography services to other Indiana farmers who are doing earth-healing work. These services are available at sliding-scale flexible pricing through our sister company Reflected Spectrum Photography.
– We write and publish a 100% ad-free educational blog about native plants, ecological restoration, organic gardening, and earth-positive agriculture. Explore the rest of our site to learn more!
