As the founder of Strawberry Moon Farm, Laura Northrup Poland is dedicated to weaving connections between the land and its people.  She practices a unique combination of farming methods integrating the design science of permaculture, the soil-building practices of regenerative agriculture, organic methods and native plants in a whole-ecosystem restoration approach.  Laura is a long time organic gardener, a certified permaculture designer, a trained herbalist, and a daily student of her local ecosystem.

Laura began her career on a totally different path. She graduated Indiana University in 2006 with a degree in Computer Science, with the intention of earning a good living by day and pursuing her greater passions on nights and weekends. It soon became clear that nights and weekends would never be enough. She started the farm in 2015, and in 2020 she quit the corporate world and dedicated her full time work to Strawberry Moon Farm. In the eleven years since its inception, Laura has planted thousands of edible native trees and plants, successfully completed multiple eco-restoration grant projects, and built a small organic market garden. Laura currently runs a year-round organic CSA, writes the Strawberry Moon Farm blog, stewards the land at Strawberry Moon, and creates nature-themed candles and jewelry.
